Masimagam Hindu festival

Masimagam Hindu festival in Melaka is celebrated by the annual pilgrimage walk with the chariot procession from the oldest Hindu temple in the country, Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple in Jalan Tukang Emas, to take part in a procession to the Arulmigu Sanasimalai Andavar Temple in Krubong.

The chariot procession starts in the early morning hours before making it's way through the streets and making stops along the way for offerings to Lord Murugan by the devotees.


The silver chariot of Lord Murugan makes it's way through the streets heading towards Cheng-Krubong.

Stalls selling all kinds of wares lined up the roads around the temples doing brisk business especially those selling food and peacock feathers. Some traders come from Selangor and Johor to ply their wares during the 2 day festivity. Notice the full moon in the night skies.
