The Eye on Malaysia currently located at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur, is one of the main attractions during Visit Malaysia Year 2007 and will finally find a "permanent home" at a 2 hectare site in Melaka come year-end.The 60m tall portable ferris wheel is the world largest and will cease operations at it's current location at the end of August 2008.
The ferris wheel have 42 air-conditioned gondolas will be placed at the Melaka Marina project site in Taman Kota Laksamana in Bandar Hilir.
The40:60 joint project between the Melaka State Government and MST AD Suria Sdn Bhd. would cost RM42million and will include a water screen display (approx RM2.5million) with aerospace walk featuring 4D projections to give visitors a feel of being in space.
This project is a separate project from the Malacca Eye located along the Melaka River banks in Jalan Hang Tuah which was built at a cost of RM3.3million and launched in November 2007.
