Malaysia Is Still Safe For Tourist Haven

Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2008 themed "Malaysia Truly Asia" is officialy coming to an end come 31 December 2007 with Indonesia taking over with Visit Indonesia Year 2008. However, the Malaysian Government had extended VMY officially to 31 August 2008by virtue of celebrating the 50th Independence of Malaysia.

With year-end approaching and being the holiday period, there are hive of tourist activities with year-end sales and bargain bonanza available for shoppers through Year-End Sale(YES) being promoted by the Ministry Of Tourism(MOT).

Despite news report of peaceful street demonstrations over the past few weeks against the Malaysian Government, businesses remain open and free movement around Malaysia. There had been no adverse effects on businesses except for the road closures by the police to thwart demonstrators protesting against corruptions, ethnic marginalizations and etc.

Road traffic jams and rain had been a regular affair this month. Get ready with your brolleys when you embark on jalan-jalan(walk) to "cari makan" (lookig for food) or "cuti" (holiday). Kuala Lumpur had been experiencing cool evenings and ideal for evening walks around the city or to the nightspots.

Kuala Lumpur remained vibrant and these demonstrations had actually added some flair to the year-end of an otherwise subtle VMY '07.

See you in Malaysia at year-end!
