Ikan Bakar Keramat

It was one of our regular eating out weekend and we were just too lazy to drive to those restaurants but an eatery nearby would be best.

Also, running out of ideas about where and what to eat.

Sounds surprising indeed considering Malaysia is a country filled with glorious tasty food everywhere and round the clock.

Healthy lifetsyle of eating in moderation and nutritious food intake is constantly etched in our minds but chances are, the Malaysian food available out there are just simply tempting that ain't gonna allow you such preference and it's left to us to balance the intake.

Was driving out when the youngest familly member suggested the little Warung Ikan Bakar Keramat (Grilled Fish Stall) located in Setiawangsa which we have all been wanting to try out judging from the crowd it has been attracting everytime we pass the stall.

So we headed to the stall despite the tiny raindrops while sheltered by the canopies set-up for dining convenience.

We ordered the usual grilled stingray assam pedas and friend cuttlefish on top of the fried rice and telur dadar which proves to be my kids' favorite.

The grilled stingray was a letdown as it has been re-heated and does not deliver to our expectations of the many other better grilled stingrays we have tasted before this.

We had a tough time finishing the huge portion served with sambal belacan as the kids had given up on continuing eating.

The fried cuttlefish was also a letdown as we would have preferred that the pieces served were to be a little smaller for the mouth.

Thank god the fried rice and telur dadar saves the day in otherwise what we consider a lame dinner outing at this ikan bakar stall.

The Nasi Goreng Cina taste good though a little oily but the Pattaya was flat. So my kids made the right choice of fried rice.

We have a rather quiet ambience eating  at the roadside stall though other than the menacing cat on the prowl below the table begging for food. Otherwise it is a clean eatery where majority of its customers are Malays staying around the Keramat and Setiawangsa vicinity.

With the food tasted dry and oily, nothing better than Sirap Bandung to quench the thirst though it was a little too sweet for my tastebud.

Overall, the whole dinner came up to RM47.50 with the Grilled Stingray priced at RM18.
