Metered Taxis Only

Taxi fares in Kuala Lumpur starts from RM3 and subsequently increase 10sen for each 115m and commenced last August 1st, 2009. Passengers need only pay whats shown on the meter and nothing more

In line with this increase, all taxis are expected to provide better services and no more "flat fares" which had been plaguing the commuters in Kuala Lumpur and perhaps few other cities in Malaysia.

Should there be any payment variation or unhappiness, ask for a receipt and make a complaint.

The receipt has details of the taxi number, mileage, fare, as well as the telephone numbers of the taxi company and the Commercial Vehicle and Licensing Board.

Lately, we have seen all taxis bearing the sticker declaring " This is a metered taxi. Haggling is Prohibited. Request for your receipt.

This move is hoped that commuters especially tourists would not be fleeced by irresponsible taxi drivers in KL.
