One can't expect all the frills of a 3-5star rated hotels but basic needs e.g. drinking water, WIFI, private bathrooms etc. for travels is almost a necessity today. With the rates offered, interior decoration and fittings, the new budget category hotels are giving the big boys a run for their money by providing the basic facilities including comfortable beds for a good night's rest with clean and well maintained accommodation.
Vista Hotel in Kemaman fits the above and ideal for travelers requiring a rest during the journey of East Coast in Peninsular Malaysia which I came across during my Chinese New Year trip to Chukai in Terengganu. Though this is not a touristic town but mainly a stopover destination for travelers to the East Coast, the hotels here are in demand by organizations having interests in the manufacturing and industrial area of Paka and Kerteh.
Kemaman town is famed with their top 2 food related brand names of stuff crab and Hai Peng Kopitiam. There are four restaurants serving the delicious stuff crab delicacy in the town namely Restoran Kemaman, Restoran Malaysia, Restoran Tong Juan and Restoran River Bend. All these restaurants face the Sungai Kemaman river front where the traveler can enjoy the cool sea breeze while enjoying the sights of fishing boats and village across the river.
Vista Hotel is strategically located on the same row as the restaurants and approximately 15 minutes walk to Hai Peng Kopitiam. If you are in need of refreshments, snacks or perhaps forgotten your toiletries, there is a convenience store below the hotel serving your needs.
The soon to be opened Kemaman Muzium, (now under renovation) is located next to Vista Hotel and this would make the hotel an ideal choice of hotel during stays in Kemaman, Terengganu.
A cross interior between Zen and Balinese design provides comfort to the guest for a warmth and home feel. Dark brown is the chosen color for the room fixtures which is equipped with cupboard, hangers and dressing table , all tastefully laid out in all rooms to serve the needs of the guests.
Drinking water (hot and cold) is never insufficient as the rooms are fitted with water dispensers for the convenience of the guest. I would think that such facility would be better then the common 2 mineral bottles supplied to room guests although the dispenser looks bulky in the room, there is no constraint of room space.
This hotel comes complete with private bathrooms with hot/cold water shower for guests and there is absolutely no need to worry of shared or common bathrooms normally found in budget accommodations.
For the business or casual travelers, WIFI is readily available throughout the hotel and for those traveling without any notebooks/laptops, a little room with 2 PCs with internet connectivity are provided for your conveniece perhaps for that short check of email and Facebook updates.
Friendly staff are readily available to assist but I guess you won't need them as Kemaman (sometimes referred as Chukai) town is between a couple of inter-connecting streets and there is absolutely no necessity for GPS to navigate.
Like any budget accommodation providers, rooms are limited and if you and your loved ones ever thought of a trip to the East Coast town of Kemaman for the great taste of nasi minyak, Hai Peng Kopitiam or stuff crab, Vista Hotel would be a great choice when all your needs are within walking distance.
The WiFi Zone signage with interchangeable colors hung in the little "internet room" equipped with 2 PCs for guest convenience.
The airwell in the hotel have been given a slight touch with wood being placed across which provides a nice lined shade during the daytime with ceiling fans to ensure you stay cool all the time. Anyway, who needs the fan or air-cond when the wind blowing from the sea/river opposite the hotel is sufficient to provide nice cool breeze.
The lounge area of the hotel.
The Balinese themed furniture which blended well at the lounge on the 1st floor of the hotel.
The staircase leading to the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms which are brightly lit with the Zen touch to the walls and staircase.
