Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MBHA) Training

Tourism in Malaysia had always been a magnet to foreign travelers with it's diversity in culture, food and tourist attractions. It is not a surprise that tourism had been for many years been a main contributor to the country's economy. With affordable room accommodations to supplement the many activities available around the country, Malaysia tourism is set to welcome more tourists.

Budget hotels had long been an industry "ignored" till recently, it had been mushrooming around the country providing clean and affordable stays for local and international guests.

With the realization and potential that the budget hotels can contribute to Malaysian tourism and economy, the umbrella association of Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MBHA) had taken initiatives to organize for their member hotels with courses to equip the owners and staff.

The training courses had been designed to upgrade the standards and service quality of the budget hotel sector which have always been associated with backpackers, bed and breakfast accommodation.

Member hotels stand to benefit from training by course leaders whom are hoteliers themselves equipped with knowledge and years of experience which are "downloaded" to the participants in the 2 days course which have been scheduled to cover the whole of Malaysia.

The Course entitled Hotel Management, Hotel Operation and Internet Marketing is among a series of training arranged by MBHA aimed to prepare the hotels for the imminent liberalisation of Malaysian tourism landscape towards 2012.

This initiative definitely stands out among the hoteliers as well as for guests to create an experience stay in budget hotels around Malaysia.

The first session was held at Hotel Seri Malaysia Port Dickson which was attended by 50 participants representing member hotels from Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur. Judging from the reponse, MBHA is confident of higher demand by member hotels for training of this nature to be held annually to update and keep members abreast with latest developments.

The closing ceremony was graced by the recetly elected State Assemblyman for Bagan Pinang, YB Tan Sri Isa Samad, who handed out the certificates to participants upon completion of the the course.
