Malaysian school holidays are back!

The 1st term Malaysian school holidays are back for 9 days from 13 - 21 March 2009. Once again the popular domestic destinations like Melaka, Penang, Langkawi, Cameron Highlands, Kota Kinabalu, Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang etc. will be a little crowded.

With the big economic recession looming overhead, it is predictable that Malaysians would restrict their holidays to domestic travel and perhaps by road where it is accessible by car.

Budget hotels would be the most sought after as there are many budget hotels which now provides clean and comfortable stays. Travelers would prefer packages with the best offer in abid to have the best value holiday on offer. Most budget hotels today do provide free WIFI access and breakfast where available with the room rates which surely provides a stiff competition to the higher rated hotels.

It is during this period several exciting events are being held in conjunction with the school holidays which includes;

(a) Malaysia Grand Prix (GP) Sales which is currently on and runs through April 5 throughout
Malaysia

(b) MATTA Fair will be held at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh concurrently from March 13-15
where travel bargains are available to travelers who wished to travel local and abroad.

(c) Colours of Malaysia at Dataran Merdeka on 21 March

(d) Sunburst KL International will be held at Bukit Kiara Equestrian Resort on 21 March which
promises lots of fun and music.

For local holidays there are many holiday destinations and ability to book directly with hotel is a sure guarantee you have rooms after a long journey. Some of the hotels can be obtained from this list.

Those travelling during this period, have a safe and pleasant journey!
