Malaysia-Melaka Festival (MMF) in New York, which kicks off on May 12, has already begun.The two-week MMF is being presented as a Malaysian and Melaka cultural and culinary extravaganza.
"The festival had been conceived for some time. Melaka offers a unique Baba-Nyonya culture and cuisine. Indeed, Melakas culture and cuisine blend well into Malaysias overall cultural and culinary picture," Datin Amy Hamidon wife of Malaysias permanent representative to the United Nations Datuk Hamidon Ali, said in an interview with Bernama.
The event will be presented before an international audience comprising diplomats accredited to the United Nations and other important officials representing a cluster of international agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in a city that touts itself as the world capital.
Other then New York, it will also be held in Los Angeles and Vancouver, BC.
